Kids Fun Plaza comes from a dream! Having worked at the United Nations for a while and of course moving like crazy with the family, I always dreamed of a place that immediately made me feel welcomed no matter where I was. A place where other moms would let me know about the best ice cream in town, where I would find community groups to join, where I would find a list of pediatricians with mom’s and kid’s recommendations, and so forth.
Time has passed by and I have a pretty stable business that allows me to work from wherever I want. However, my husband is now the one that moves for work reasons. In the last three years, we have moved twice. Yes! looking for schools, doctors, tennis lessons…. all over again. This time, I’ve decided to do something about it. KidsFunPlaza!!
Why KidsFunPlaza? because the world is a plaza for kids to have fun. If the kids are having fun in a healthy environment, we parents are ok. No matter where I move, I end up looking for the same resources and it’s all centered on the kids. So the world really feels like a plaza for my kids.
I really hope that this plaza grows and other moms take the initiative to make their region a KidsFunPlaza. In the meantime, I’m starting with the first one right here in Northeastern NY (NENY). If you are a mom, a dad, a service provider, an educator, a grandparent, a health professional, a community leader… we need you! please help me make our region a fun plaza for our kids.
